Michael is a partner with the firm whose practice is focused primarily on business and real estate litigation. He has experience in handling a broad range of commercial disputes including breach of contract actions, unfair competition claims, misrepresentation/non-disclosure cases, and matters involving contractual interference and related business torts. In the real estate context, Michael has experience in easement disputes, condemnation actions, foreclosure proceedings, breach of guaranty actions, broker/agent disputes, lawsuits arising out of the purchase and lease of real property, and landlord/tenant disputes. Michael also has experience in handling construction defect cases, professional liability disputes, and a variety of insurance and reinsurance related matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Michael was a partner with a leading national law firm ranked in the “First Tier” of all U.S. law firms by U.S. News and Best Lawyers, where he practiced commercial litigation in the firm's San Francisco office. He has experience in all aspects of litigation, including trial and arbitration, as well as mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Michael earned his Bachelor’s degree from University of California at Santa Barbara with High Honors and his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. During law school, he served as an editor on the Law Review and clerked for the Honorable Ronald M. Whyte of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. He is licensed to practice before all courts in California, the Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern District Courts of California, as well as the Second and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals.
